ABS Wins Fourth Award Of This Year In Maritime Cyber Security

ABS FCI Cyber Risk Methodology won the fourth high profile award in Maritime Cyber Security this year. At the Lloyd’s Asia Pacific Awards, the award for Excellence in Data and Technology Innovation was backed by ABS.

ABS has also received the Lloyd’s List Americas award in September and two more top industry awards from Seatrade and Smart4Sea magazines this year making ABS the leader in cybersecurity for the maritime and offshore industries in the world.

“As our safety world transforms and focuses on the systems we don’t see, such as software and digital, cyber is quickly adding a new dimension to safety systems,” said Christopher J. Wiernicki, ABS Chairman, President, and CEO. “This succession of awards recognizes that ABS remains at the forefront of safety leadership in this new arena.”

ABS Cyber Risk experts have worked with the leading government agencies have found out innovative ways that make cyber risk in marine and offshore environments simple. In order to measure cybersecurity risks which are associated with the operational technology, ABS FCI Cyber Risk Methodology has been developed by the ABS. This will also provide a strategy to help in the reduction of cyber Risk in the vessel to the owners and operators. This puts in the control of acting against cyber risks in the hands of the asset owners.
