Update On Search Operations For Bourbon Rhode Crew; Three Survivors Return

The three crew members of Bourbon Rhode that survived arrived in Fort de France on the 6th of October onboard the French Navy ‘Ventôse’. The civil and military authorities and the representatives from Bourbon welcomed them. The healths of the survivors have been taken care of and have been reunited with their families already.

The funeral services have taken care of the bodies of the seafarers who died and will be soon repatriated to their families.

Bourbon reminds about the extensive search operation that was implemented since the 26th of September by CROSS Antilles-Guyane along with maritime and air resources that are responsible to carry out the search and rescue operations on the French maritime authorities’ behalf.

The search operation that was decided by CROSS is still continuing. The Alp Striker Vessel that is a 90m AHTS that has the capability of operating over long distances is still searching and surveying the area in order to find out the still missing seafarers. All merchant vessels that are operating in that area have also been instructed to keep an appropriate watch.

The families of the crewmembers are being given daily support by the Bourbon. To understand and know the facts and circumstances of the tragedy, the crisis cell is continuously in action and is working closely with various stakeholders.
