Mitsubishi Delivers MOL’s Newbuilt LNG Carrier MARVEL HERON To Serve Mitsui
LNG carried Marvel Heron is announced to have been delivered Mitsui O.S.K.Lines Ltd (MOL). A naming ceremony was held on August 30, at the Nagasaki Shipyard Koyagi Plant by MOL. Yoshio Kometani, Executive Managing Officer of MOL named the vessel the Marvel Heron.
Of the three LNG carriers that are being built, the Marvel Heron is the second one that sails as per the Charter contract that Mitsui & Co. signed in September 2014 and 2015. These ships will transport LNG majorly from the Cameron LNG Project backed by Mitsui & Co. that is in Louisiana, USA.
The hybrid dual shift Shaft Turbine and Gas Engine propulsion system is used in the Marvel Heron. It is eco-friendly and has an economical design. This not only reduces the fuel cost but also reduces Co2 emissions.
