Florida Institute of Technology is a private, not-for-profit institution. This institute situated in Melbourne was found in 1958 as Brevard Engineering College to support NASA. Maine Maritime Academy was founded in 1941 by the 90th Maine legislature. This academy, situated in Castine, is a nautical training institute. The college offers 2 undergraduate degrees and 16 academic majors in marine-related fields. It has about 900 undergraduate students and is affiliated under the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
